I would definitely recommend this DVD player. It was fairly inexpensive for what it offers. You can create a data disc on a DVD to fit about 5 full-length movies and play them straight from this DVD player. You don't need to convert AVIs you download; just burn a data disc and pop it in the dvd player. The DIVx addition provides clear picture and sound. What I love about it is that the mouths aren't moving to a different line than the audio playing, as can sometimes happen when you have to convert a file to dvd format. This dvd player will save you lots of time and money!

Item as good as everyone said it is, but doesn't play .mp4 video. Codec not supported. Otherwise, the usb port is convenient for putting in a quick movie, and have had no problems in 1 month. It did freeze once on startup, but I think the husband was not letting it startup completely before issuing commands. Cut the power and restarted fine. Otherwise, no problems. We're going to get a dvr with a digital tuner, and this will be our secondary player. Thanks to all who've left reviews before me and helped me to make this purchase. Thanks for Amazon for a great price, 48.99 and free ship.

Finally I don't need to burn any more DVD to watch movies. The USB function works great. It can read from any FAT32 based external hard disk. Works great. plays AVI and DivX smoothly .

We've had this for about a month and have watched a dozen divx movies using the usb port. We've also watched several dvd's and have had no problems. The picture quality is better than my expensive Sony dvd player. The sound quality is comparable to my Sony. I also like the slim design, it doesn't take up very much space.

I got this product after my other DVD player died. I chose this item because it was not ultra expensive but more importantly, I wanted to play files from a USB stick. It has been perfect for that. I have watched several .AVI files off of the stick and it will also play music files. The USB menu is easy to navigate. The DVD's play fine. The machine itself looks a little cheap and I don't know how long it will hold up. The one thing I miss about my other DVD player was the fact that it was a five disc changer so my wife and I had our different DVD's in the tray to go at a moment's notice. I can live with a single tray as long as the USB works as well as it has
